Detail Review: ‘The Gray Man’ means action, action and action… then a little more action

Detail Review ‘The Gray Man’: The fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe look upon the Rousseau Brothers ie Anthony Russo and Joe Russo with great respect. The reason is also clear – both the brothers have directed block buster films of Captain America and Avengers series. End Game, the last film of the Avengers series, broke more than half the box office records and also the hearts of the viewers when he showed some important Avengers dying in battle with Thanos.

The Rousseau Brothers are known for their larger than life cinema style. His visual sense, that is, his amazing ability to bring any script to the cinema screen in the grandest form, has led to his style being considered the best. The Russo Brothers are now carrying forward the style of Avatar James Cameron or Star Wars stars George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. His latest film, “The Gray Man”, which released on Netflix on 22 July, is one such action film, in which the action is continuously decorated on the screen in such a way that while watching the film, it seems to be the story. But no other film could have been made better than this. If anything comes after action in the film, then it is a little more action. The workmanship of Rousseau Brothers is worth seeing.

The story of The Gray Man is very simple. Sierra Six (Ryan Gosling), an agent for Sierra, a secret division of the US intelligence agency CIA, is asked to capture a man in Bangkok and rob him of all his belongings. A fierce fight ensues between the two and it is revealed that the person Sierra Six kills is also Sierra’s agent. Before dying, he gives a pen drive to Agent Sierra Six, which contains many secrets. This entire operation is being done at the behest of a corrupt CIA officer Danny Carmichael (Reje Jean Page).

Sierra Six goes missing with that pen drive. To capture him, Danny sends a hired killer, Lloyd Hanson (Chris Evans), behind the Sierra Six. There are many types of battles in different countries where sometimes Hanson and sometimes Sierra Six have the upper hand. Hanson takes advantage of the opportunity to kidnap Claire (Julia Butters), the niece of Sierra Group founder and father of the Sierra Six, like Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton). Sierra Six reaches him and then Danny’s accomplice shoots him. Sierra rescues Claire and all is well.

The story of the film is actually based on the novel The Gray Man by Mark Granny. Granny has written about a dozen novels in The Gray Man series so far. Efforts to make a film on The Gray Man had been going on for a long time. In 2011, there was a plan to make this film about Brad Pitt and once again with Charlize Theron. Had it been with Charlize, she would have had to be named something else because Charlize is an actress. This is the most expensive movie of Netflix till date. Netflix had to spend 200 million dollars i.e. 1 billion 57 crore rupees to make it.

The film was watched by 4.5 crore people in the first 3 days of its release on Netflix. The promotion of this film was also very strong and its viewers were more in India because the hero of Tamil films Dhanush also had an important role in this film. Inspired by its success in 84 countries around the world in its release week, Netflix has decided that the film will also have sequels. Work on the script of its sequel has also started.

Chris Evans was earlier given the role of Sierra Six in the film but he preferred to play Willan Hanson. In many places, both Ryan and Chris preferred to speak their own dialogues over the written ones, which added to the fun. The film is a great action film and the credit for its entire success will have to be given to its stunt team because not only the action remains constant in the film, but the stunts that are in the film are also amazing and you have the heart to take your eyes off the screen. will not. The Russo brothers had kept the same thing in mind in Avengers, so despite having a very short and simple story, the Avengers films satisfied the viewers. The Gray Man’s stunts are amazing. From the entry of Sierra Six to the battle of the climax, the constant action did not allow the film to stop and did not give the audience time to think even for a moment.

Tamil star Dhanush’s role in the film is small but the way his co-stars have praised him for his performance, stunts, personality and professionalism during and after the shoot, it is clear from it. That Hollywood has liked the style of Dhanush. Hopefully he will play an important role in the upcoming sequels as well. Dhanush plays a hired killer who works for Hanson.

In the first fight, he takes the pen drive from Ryan, and in the second fight also defeats Hanson’s partner, CIA’s Miranda, who has become Ryan’s ally, but here he gives the pen drive to Miranda before disappearing again. Because he doesn’t like Hanson’s style of kidnapping children and causing unintentional bloodshed. Seeing the best action in this short scene, you suddenly become a fan of Dhanush. He knows why Chris Evans did the role of Hanson, but he is amazing in the role he has played as a mentally ill type of killer. Chris always turns out to be Captain America so it was fun to see him in a negative role.

The audience doesn’t have time to breathe in The Gray Man. The action goes on continuously and it is also wrong to not see the action filmed with such grandeur. When you think that the action is probably over, only then begins such a scene of firing and action which was even heavier than the previous scene. Watch the movie. A great example of how action films are made.
