Eintracht Frankfurt vs Tottenham LIVE! Champions League match stream, team news, lineups, TV, prediction today

Tottenham look to bounce back from their painful north London derby defeat as they travel to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League tonight. Antonio Conte’s side were beaten in the Premier League for the first time this season as Arsenal secured bragging rights with a dominant display.

There is a need for Spurs to respond in Europe too, their last Champions League match being a 2-0 defeat to Sporting Lisbon. With the Portuguese side in pole position in Group D, these two matches between Frankfurt and Spurs in the space of eight days will have a huge bearing on who progresses to the knockout stages.

Last season’s Europa League winners Frankfurt have lost to Sporting and beat Marseille so far, matching Tottenham’s record, and sit sixth in the Bundesliga after a decent start to their domestic season. Fiery Conte sends clear Spurs message over selection and tactics

Antonio Conte hit back at his armchair critics here in Germany last night, offering a robust defense of his selections and tactics, which suggests the Tottenham boss is not about to change his approach against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Told supporters were wondering if summer signing Djed Spence would be given an opportunity at right wing-back after Emerson Royal’s red card against Arsenal on Saturday, a bristling Conte said the 21-year-old is still “not ready”.

Unprompted, he added: “Also [Matt] Doherty last season played every game. Now, I’m not seeing him in the right way to start the game. I am not stupid, I don’t want to lose. I try to pick the best team. If they [fans] trust me, it’s okay. If they don’t trust me, then I’m the coach and I need to take the best decisions for Tottenham.”

Tottenham team news: Royal to continue, Ben Davies back

Conte has admitted he is worried about Spurs’ mounting injury problems, with Dejan Kulusevksi and Lucas Moura ruled out.

The Italian also says that Matt Doherty is not ready to start games and hinted something similar about Djed Spence. That means Emerson Royal will continue at right-back despite his red card against Arsenal, with options light.

Clement Lenglet will likely deputise in defense but Ben Davies is available once more, with Conte potentially switching to a 3-5-2 formation for the first time this season.
