Indian Train Operator Hits Emergency Brakes To Save Man’s Life

He hit them brakes right on time!

A video that was recently shared by the Ministry of Railways showed an alert train operating, who hit the emergency brakes right on time in order to save the life of a man that was lying on the railway tracks.

The incident happened at the Sewri station on the Harbour line of the Mumbai suburban railway network.

In the 50-second long video, the man could be seen wandering onto the railway tracks and suddenly lying down on them as the train came real close to him.

Just within a couple of seconds, the train started to slow down and eventually stopped.

3 railway police officers also ran up to the scene to escort the man to safety.

A report by NDTV suggests that the incident happened on January 2 this year at around 11:45 AM at the Sewri station on the Harbour line of the Mumbai suburban railway network.

The Ministry of Railways applauded the work of the train operator.

Talking about the incident, the Ministry of Railways said in a statement that they released on Twitter:

At Sewri station in Mumbai, the motorman saw a person lying on the track, he saved the life of the person by applying the emergency brake with promptness and understanding. Your life is precious, someone is waiting for you at home.

The video that the ministry shared has been viewed by over 94,000 users on Twitter with around 5,700 liking it.
