Nishimiya is now friends with a boy named Tomohiro Nagatsuka, who is also deaf. Ishida befriends Nagatsuka in order to get closer to Nishimiya. He also starts to learn sign language so that he can communicate with her.

Ishida and Nishimiya slowly become friends, but their relationship is put to the test when Ishida’s bullying past is revealed to her. Nishimiya must decide if she can forgive him for what he did or if she will continue to hold onto her resentment.

A Silent Voice is an emotionally powerful and beautifully animated film that explores the themes of bullying, repentance, and forgiveness. It is a must-see for fans of Japanese animation.
