A 41-year-old kickboxing champion who discharged himself from a hospital after denying that he had coronavirus has passed away.
Frederic Sinistra, the kickboxing champion, shared images from his hospital bed in Liege, Belgium, where it was seen that he had an oxygen tube up inside his nose.
Earlier, Sinistra, who was 41, recently talked against the measures of the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
He also told his followers that he would be treating his symptoms all by himself inside his house.
Responding to a comment on his Facebook page, which happened 3 days before his death, Sinistra said:
Thank you for all your support. I’m home recovering, as I should. I will come back a thousand times stronger.
In other posts, he referred to the coronavirus as the little virus or the hair flu.
He also criticized mask mandates and vaccine passports.
Sinistra himself was not vaccinated.
In November this year, Sinistra attended hospital after Osman Yigin, his coach, urged him to get checked out.
The coach told news agencies that he told Sinistra that he would not be training him in the future if he did not seek medical attention for his coronavirus symptoms.
Sinistra remained heavily active on his social media platforms up to his death.
His partner confirmed the news on December 16, 2021.
The last Facebook post that he made said:
I’ve had to work twice as hard as most, I’ve fought battles no one really knows about, and of course I’ve had setbacks in my career as well as in my personal life, but it’s made me who I am where I am today. For everyone else who has supported me for years and especially for this last ordeal where I have really seen death, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your messages, your support or for your encouragement.
Announcing the death of Sinistra, his partner said:
