A man was found lying dead on the floor of a house while being surrounded by over 100 venomous snakes.
The man, who was not named, was found dead on the floor of his house while being surrounded by more than 100 venomous snakes, which includes a 14 ft Burmese Python.
The police were called to the man’s house in Maryland, USA, after his worried neighbor went up to check up on him after not seeing him for more than a day.
The 49-year-old man was seen unconscious on the floor before emergency services stormed his house and declared him dead.
Authorities said that there was no evidence of foul play and said his neighbors were not aware that there were snakes at his property.
Jennifer Harris, a member of the Charles County Animal Control, said that they tagged and bagged over 125 snakes, which were a mix of varieties.
She said that the snakes were the biggest collection that they have seen in the last 30 years of their work.
They also said that neighbors do not need to worry about anything.
“I do want to assure the community, [and] anybody living in this neighbourhood, we have not seen that any of the snakes were not properly secured or could have escaped. I know people were worried that there could be some danger to people living nearby, but at this point, we have not uncovered or determined that any of the snakes actually were not secured after this gentleman’s death.
The police said that the body of the 49-year-old man was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the man and his family, may his soul rest in peace.
